The Centre technique des industries mécaniques was created in 1965 at the request of the mechanical engineering industry, to provide companies with the resources and skills to enhance their competitiveness, participate in standardization, act as a link between scientific research and industry, promote technical progress, and help improve efficiency and guarantee quality. At the crossroads of research and industry, Cetim, a Carnot-accredited technological institute and member of the Alliance Industrie du Futur, is France's center of mechanical expertise. An R&D tool for 6,500 mechanical engineering companies, Cetim and its associated centers and subsidiaries employ 1,100 people, 2/3 of whom are engineers and technicians, and generate sales of €150 million. It works closely with a network of scientific and technical partners. Its role as a driver of numerous innovative projects naturally makes it the federator of major industrial or multi-partner R&D projects, in 5 main areas: design, simulation, testing - manufacturing processes and materials - mechatronics, control and measurement - sustainable development - management and support for SMEs.
Materials and sealing behavior, design and manufacturing, equipment qualification and testing, regulatory and standards developments
